How to look after yourself in COVID-19 times?

When you look into the photograph, what can you observe? An abandoned lake surrounded by wild weeds and sunlight is not even on the horizon! Where is the sun? Where is the stimulation to happiness? At present, in this winter 2020 in Melbourne, within our hearts it might be a dilemma of uncertainty and struggle to actually understand the current state of minds. Am I right? This photo motivated me to call us “Wombats in the mist”. It’s not Russian poetry, it’s a paradox of reality we face- COVID-19 hit us hard! Lots of lost lives across the Globe. Individuals lost jobs and opportunities, our economy will suffer for a while, borders are closed — I can’t see my mum. Its nearly like we are trying to see what’s behind of those trees but we can’t! And, like a Wombat in the mist, I hide the head and pretend that life is on!

Staying at home can be difficult — closed spaces, constant face-to-face interactions with our beloved ones will test our patience. Mask up this time around, Melburnians! Within your proximity, you need to find space where “Mist” will disappear- your outdoor area, balconies, parks just across the road. The Mist is not a physical state, rather Mental. Retrieving the clarity out of our brain databases of what’s important is not easy!

We are, intellectual creatures, need food for thoughts, we need to keep our brain entertained! We need a reason. Some said that everything comes to an end! The light will break through the misty “lakes” of our lives and something amazing will happen! The land will be cleaner, the soul will be more engaging and the minds will get more educated. A walk with my family across Pipermakers Park in Maribyrnong, July 15th where Aboriginal culture still lives in the misty morning became a short story. The story of “Keep going” and focus on Now. Well, hot coffees in reusable cups, keep the hopes up! Grab your phone cameras, set up a life focus and you might see something beyond of the mist- You are Alive and we will get through this.

With Love,
